With that being said I believe a little girl is going to get her "forever home" and her mommy and daddy are going to see a miracle. I've wanted to make a Sun Bonnet Sue for a long time and never got around to it. Because I've run out of batting to finish the 4 quilt tops for Finn's UFO challenge (see sidebar) I thought it's a perfect time to make this quilt, believing with all my heart that this adoption is going to go through, believing in a God inspiring miracle!! This is the first block. I finished two yesterday which are machine appliqued. I'm not sure yet how many I'll have to make, I think 20 all told. I'm so excited now to see it finished and to send it on it's way. I'm worked on #3,4 & 5 yesterday and hope to get 6,7 & 8 done today.
This is the second one I started, another quilt to go to a little one on a northern reserve in my province. I had bought this cute panel a few months back and was given a large bag of cut flannelette squares so I decided to use the squares to make the panel larger. Doesn't it have lots of wonderful colors....something little ones really love.

What a great person you are and what great things you are doing! I, too, believe in both!
How cute....!! Sun Bonnet Sue has always been one of my favorites....i've also, got two quilts going for brothers who may(send lots of prayers) find their forever home before the end of the year with a staff member......
Enjoy.....LindaMay
They do go together and the real blessing is that you are able to do it all. Hava a wonderful Tuesday!
Absolutely, positively, unequivocally...YES! Lovely post!
PERFECT!!!! She is going to love it! I believe in miracles too, they happen on a daily basis. I feel sorry for people who have lost faith or don't "see" the miracles around them. What in the world keeps them getting up every morning.Faith in God is the only thing that keeps me going some days. I am praying for that adoption to go through!
Again, what a beautiful gift God has given you and what a beautiful way you are using it!
God Bless!
I love sun bonnet sue too. I have made 2 one for my grand daughter and one was a commission 3 years ago.
Love the panel quilt too, lovely bright colours for a child.
Oh what beautiful work you do my friend. A happy heart for sure. Thank you for sharing this beautiful Tuesday morning.
I would say some little girl is going to be one happy baby. This little Sunbonnet Sue pattern is one of my favorites. When my daughter was born almost 32 years ago a Sunbonnet Sue quilt was made for her. I kept it and cherished it all these years. When her two daughters were born, they were also covered in its love. We still share this beautiful baby quilt that has brought so much happiness to both my daughter and I. I know this little quilt will be loved.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work this morning. These quilts truly are scraps and pieces of our lives recycled.
Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
I love the bonnet girl! Reminds me of the quilts my great-grandmother made us. Hand-stitched.

Your work is wonderful and you have a kind and generous heart and spirit!
Miricales and helping others goes hand in hand. And your Sun Bonnet Sue quilt is perfect for a little girl getting her forever family! I have a SUn Bonnet Sue quilt that my great-great grandmother made (she did the top and I just quilted it last year). I LOVE them.

I absolutely believe in miracles, they happen every day, all around us, we just have to believe. Your quilts are so beautiful and so needed that I dare say it's miracle to the children that receive them.
