Book review...

While a wonderful wedding day is important, it's the last day of marriage that really counts.   Will the last day of your marriage come prematurely through divorce?   Will it be filled with regrets as you sit at the funeral of your spouse?   Or, by God's grace, will the last day be a day to rejoice in the life you lived together?

Pastor Mark Driscoll and his wife, Grace, want you to finish well on the last day.   From the importance of date nights to answers to the most tricky "can we do that?", s*x questions, they share practical help and hope with people just like them--who entered marriage a complete mess--or who are planning to be married someday and want to avoid some sticky pitfalls.

I have to be honest here, this is not the type of book I would normally read.  However I did find it informative and I felt the authors were very honest in sharing their lives with the reader, expecially when it came to Grace.   Although I didn't agree with all that was said in the book, I feel it's a book that most would enjoy reading.   There is much to learn from Mark and Grace's story in this book.

I loved the last chapter Reverse Engineering Your Life and Marriage.   The questions pertaining to principles, plans, rhythms, priorities, the future and making changes are awesome and very thought provoking.   The questions will take lots of thought and yet if answered honestly will definitely make a difference in our lives.   A good read!!

Love Bears All Things said...

I want my husband to remember me telling him I loved him and giving him a hug before we part for the day and when we come together again. No one knows when the last day, hour, moments spent with loved ones will come. Better to not have regrets.
